The 7.4 MPI is rated at 310HP. Im at 4800' elevation and put the hours on my Shabah 250 every season. I feel the 7.4 does a decent job. It is a heavy motor and it loves to consume fuel. It will push my boat as fast as 50 at this elevation when its on "E" an its not loaded with bee... I mean ice chests. I could not see this vessel with a less powerful motor.
6.2 320HP could be an interesting combo with higher power an small block weight.
