I have a '97 Shabah 198SE. I've had it for about 3 years. Haven't had too much problem with it. Replaced the bilge pump and the water pump. I use it for wake boarding mostly so there is a lot of shifting in and out of gear. I have noticed the last time I had it out that out of nowhere when I was shifting it was not engaging like it should have. I would have to try several times to shift from forward to neutral and sometimes even go back into reverse. I sort of remember having a similar problem with a different boat years ago and it was the shift cable. Problem is that my boat mechanic had a heart attach and is not feeling good, don't want to bother him. I've been online trying to look up the cable and am not having any luck. Finding there are shifter cables, throttle cables and someone even said something about the boots on their boat being cut and they showed me these boots that are over cables that look like they go from the outdrive into the transom. I have a 5.7L 210 HP. Help, Please!!
