I was out on the loch last night in my SX18 with a mercruiser 3ltr engine, when I was just pottering about the oil pressure was fine but when I went to WOT the pressure fell to almost 0, as I slowed down the pressure came back up an stayed fine. Anyone know whats going on.

I would start by checking the connections at your oil pressure sending unit and gauge. If nothing shows up there, a faulty sending unit may be the cause. As you know, the pressure should increase with higher RPM.

Thanks Shabah 198SE, I spoke to the mechanic at the marina and he is going to check it over for me but I have to wait untill the 28th June as they are so busy at the moment. I just have to hope the bad weather stays untill then and then we get the summer.

Shabah 198SE, you were right on the button. A faulty connection at the pressure sending unit was all it was, now she is sorted and ready to play.
