My 1997 Shabah 198 with 5.7l with two barrel carb with Alpha drive starts easy on the trailer and runs around fine. After we drive around for a while and park, when I go to start the boat it cranks and cranks but doesn't want to start. I have to put the throttle to full throttle and crank it. It eventually starts and runs fine. If I kill the engine for just a few minutes it starts right back up, but if we park for a half hour or so it doesn't want to start. Any ideas?

sounds like too much fuel in the carb typically why full throttle is needed to start
