Default Shabah Stalls Out

I have a 1995 Shabah 212, with a carbed 350. The engine is stalling out on me after it runs for a few minutes usually after banking a turn or hitting a wake. The motor is new but has all the electronics and fuel delivery off the 350 Mag that was in there. It runs like a top until it shuts down. I have replaced the fuel water separator, anti-siphon valve, and it has new cap and rotor plugs, wires, and coil. I took it out again yesterday and am still having the problem, I even tried running with the fuel cap open to eliminate an issue with the vent tube. I was able to get it restarted on the water although it seemed to get progresively harder each time. Each time it went down I would check for fuel in the separator and also losen a carb line and verify there was gas up there, after that and it sitting for a few minutes it would start back up and run for a few more minutes and then it shuts down again. I pulled a plug right after it shut down one time and it indicates it may be a little lean, the electrode is fairly white although they only have maybe 1.5 hours of life on them. I am at a loss and would appreciate any help in getting me running on the water. The previous owner did have the boat sitting for awhile with close to a full tank in it (with stabil though).

Thanks in advance for the help

From my past experience when the engine performs like you describe the answer was bad points in the distributor or the gas. Even though the gas was treated it tends to turn bad after a few months. Suggest a fuel system cleaner be added.

How about the carb float being defective? If it's not getting enough gas in the reservoir it will get starved when you turn aggressively. A disclaimer that this knowledge is based on carburated cars and not boat carbs. I have yet to tear one of those apart!!

I did forget to mention that after one of my 'bad' gas experiences, the carb was disassembled and cleaned. So a defective float valve is possible.

Sounds like a sticky float to me. I hate carb problems, they seem to come & go and occur at the worst possible time.
