Default Black 1998 Z272

This one looks like a really good deal. My only concern is that the add lists the engine as a 5.0L, that seems REALLY underpowered for a boat of this size.

Well if it isn't a typo, it explains why it's a good deal.... 5.0L

It's a Limited Edition, and it's one of two black hulled 272's I've ever seen. So it's pretty rare, and looks to be in great shape! However I bet it's quite a bit of work keeping that gelcoat shining!

5.0L does seem underpowered, maybe he's mistaken in the post?

Yeah, thats gotta be incorrect. With a 5.0 that thing would probably be a slug to get up on plane.

I would guess it should have a 7.4L as the minimum...

That was also my first thought... how do you keep that clean!?!?!?!

I think it has to be a typo. It has zero effort controls and a Bravo One outdrive. I don't think I've ever seen either of those (much less, both!) on a 5.0L (except maybe a Donzi Sweet 16 or something).

She's definitely a rare, beautiful boat!!!

This is actually the third black one that I have seen for sale in the last couple of weeks. There is another 96 272 for sale in CA right now, same price. I cannot recall where I saw the other one.

It looks like the listing was possibly updated today, because right now it says its powered by a 502ci .. (8.2L)

That sounds about right, that thing is probably a screamer! Maybe the seller is a "lurker" of the board... I looked through the brochures and I think the smallest engine they offered in the 272 is the 5.7L. Man, that is a great looking boat! Too bad our lakes in AZ are too small and shallow for a boat that big. I see people with boats that big all the time but with a boat that nice I would be a nervous wreck all day. Not to mention the sun would eat that gelcoat alive.

Park it up in Ontario then. That thing would take on Lake Simcoe like a dream.

Boating season runs from June to late September if you are lucky. Plus there is no hot baking AZ sun... .

I would keep an eye on it for you if you did
