Default Aspiring Mariah Owner

Hi everyone,
My name is Marty7. I am just in the process of looking at a 1996 Mariah 21 ft. bow rider to possibly buy it. The boat has a Mercruiser 350 in it with an Alpha One outdrive. Everything looks like it has been well cared for. It sits on a nice colour matched tandem axle trailer and has a nice custom boat cover. All the upholstery is in great shape and I am very pleased with the whole package. A little negotiating is at hand and I may soon be a new owner member. I am up here in cold Ontario Canada where we are having a very cold snowy winter so boating is a long way off. I was a little nervous about parts if I ever need them for the boat itself since the original company is gone and the new owners don't apparently stock parts for the original years of the boat. Can anyone here cast some light on that and maybe calm some of my fears. Either way its nice to be on a dedicated loyal site with lots of good threads and lots of good knowledge to benefit from. Real happy to be on board.
Marty

As far as mechanical parts, you are fine. The parts you no longer can get would be upholstery and curved windshield glass. Hopefully you'll get a good deal since you cannot water test it.

Don't be put off by the availability of replacement parts. We've built quite a list over the years:
    http://www.mariahownersclub.com/foru...dors-list.html

Really, the main things to be overly cautious of are damage to the plastic dash gauge cluster, bow rails, plastic storage lid tops, and fiberglass seat backs. These were made in-house at Mariah, and finding replacements for these are next to impossible. You'll have to get them repaired rather than replacing them if anything were to happen.

For anything else, upholstery, canvas, electronics, engine & running gear, gauges, etc, these can all be replaced, so there's no real worry! Don't let it hold you back at all. If you do end up having some trouble, just post your questions or concerns, we're all here to help.
