Default new to the club and mariahs

Hi ,
I just purchased a 1997 z275 shabah 3 weeks ago. It has a 7.4 mag with a bravo 3. I replaced the plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor button. The boat works excellent and I just love it. I have owned a checkmate convincer and a few other power boats in the past but this mariah is my favorite.

I'm not sure of the prop pitch, it has the counter rotating 3 blades on each. It gets to plane really fast and easy, cruises at 22 mph @ 2800 rpm and tops out at 39 mph @ 4400 rpm, 2 people and half a tank of gas. I was just wondering if this is normal? It seems a bit slow to me? If this isn't normal does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

Thanks,
Bill

Although I have the 302, there isnt much difference between them. I too have the same motor/outdrive combo you do.

Mine came with 24p props. Ive moved up to 26's and am currently looking for 28's, as I can easily hit the 4400 rev limit as well.

Currently with a full tank and 4 or less in the boat, I can top out at 44 mph.

Az speed and marine offer a re-map of your computer, claiming to add 12-15 hp and raise your rev limit to 5200 for under $500. Turn around time is 1 week, so it's pretty quick and a good bang for the buck as well.
