Mariah owners,

I am pleased to say I am one of you now. I am working on a 1994 Z220 talari it needs quite a bit of work but am truly impressed with the construction of this boat. I have the whole interior taken out and in the process of wet sanding and buffing the exterior. It seems to be coming right back in color and the interior with a toothbrush in the basement is starting to look good. Just wanted to say Hi.

PS *the only mechanical problem is a speedo not working its electric not vacuum and all the
components seem to be there including ground
*also I want to put the dividers between the motor and the sides to add storage I have seen
many with this does anybody think i will have a heat issue with the motor not getting enough
air?

Congradations and welcome. I think the great majority of Mariah's have those dividers on the sides of the engine, many incorporate a top piece as well for a storage area above the engine. I wouldn't worry about heat of the block since the engine cooling system is designed to keep it cool without the benefit of air for cooling. Mine is convenient to store a play tube on one side and a good spot to mount an amplifier and the sub on the other side without worrying about them coming into contact with the engine. You want to pay attention to what to wrap the inside of the panels with, the outside is carpeted but the inside has some heat resistant looking material, likely flame resistant.

I am currently involved in roughly the same project with my 94 Talari 220. My interior is out too. Soon I will be removing the old carpet from those dividers by the engine that you are talking about. Let me know if you want detailed measurements of the bare plywood pieces. They're a strange shape, not just a rectangle. This is all IF the engine area is the same design in a 220 and a Z220.

Also, I'm considering using the reflective foil bubble wrap sold at Menard's for attics. I intend to use it for the thermal/sound insulation on the insides of those panels. I think it's fireproof. The best part... $15 will do the job with enough to redo the back of the bench seat too.

Thanks for the info. I just got the dash put back together everything works. started replacing the bulbs in the docking lights saturday. You have a great idea with the foil wrap i found the identical thing at menards with the foil and foam for sound deadening it has the sticky back and i will also use stainless staples. I sanded the plywood for the seats (2) that need to be repaired and installed new aluminum thread in inserts with stainless washers for the sundeck. Its been alot of fun also alot of work.
