Default new member and shabah 180 owner

Hello all,
My name is Travis and I just bought a 1998 Shabah 180. I live in Fort Walton Beach florida with my wife and two kids. I have been in the Air Force for 15 yrs as a helicopter door gunner. I am relatively new to the boat owner scene but have lots of experience playing with uncle sam's boats, mainly zodiacs and whalers though.

I do have a question for the experts here, all of my switches on the dash are pretty torn up and I dont have a manual to identify them. Any ideas out there?? Also, does the Merc 4.3 have a hose attachment or does it require muffs? I would like to get it on the water soon but I want to work through any issues on land first....
Thanks in advance everyone!

    Running in driveway on muffs

Welcome. The above youtube shows an example and some advice. I don't know the youtuber but good demo. You can buy the muffs at any boat shop.
Remember to lower the drive down some before starting and of course run in neutral.

For the switches, search this forum and you will see lots of info. We have a page that list parts and who made them. Of course not all of those businesses are still around but you should be able to replace the rocker switches with something comparable.

    Good Luck.

    Thanks for the info,
I did get the boat out on the water yesterday and as luck would have it the motor began spewing oil which in turn left me stranded in the bay.
