Default Possible New Mariah Owner of Z-225

Hello everyone...what a great site. I am presently looking to get a boat and have narrowed it down to two. Looking at an older Chaparral 2150SX and a 1995 Davanti z-225. Could anyone give me a heads up to what to look for on this Mariah. I will be a first time boat owner. Have ran several friends boats but finally ready to own my own. Will be running it mostly on Lake Merwin in Washington. Going to look at it this sunday and was hoping for any info that I can get before than. Thanks a bunch....Max

Hi MadMax and welcome to the club!

With so much to look over when it comes to a boat and unless you're extremely familiar with examining boats and their systems, I highly recommend acquiring the services of a competent boat surveyor or mechanic to look over any of your choices and if possible, try them out on the water to insure you're happy with the way they perform (and if there is a trailer involved, don't forget to check it out too).

As well built as a Mariah is, if it hasn't been maintained very well , the new owner may find themselves looking at headaches and bills they weren't prepared for.

Good luck and hope to see you back with your new Davati

I looked at a 95 Z212 Shabah the other day, (I am considering a bigger boat).
It was on a trailer and I noticed that there were blisters in the hull.
Thought I read on one of the forums here that owners reported blistering on their mid 90's Mariahs.
    Something to be aware of.

    Skiater.
