Smile New to forum

Hi guys, I am new to the forum. Dont hold this against me but I do not own a Mariah. I had a 182 Bachetta back in 1998 but I sold it to buy a bigger boat. Went with the Crownline 202br. Now I want to come back to the Mariah community. I am in search of a Mariah now. Just wanted to say hi and read some of the posts.

We'll still consider you part of the family. We welcome all people here, previous owners, current owners, and prospective owners. We're a friendly bunch and love our boats!

Thats funny you owned a Barchetta then traded up to a Crownline. Crownline and Mariah Boats were very close, in fact the founders actually worked together for Celebrity Boats for years before they both decided to leave and pursue their own boat companies. Plus Crownline and Mariah both had their factories located about 15 miles from each other in Benton and West Frankfort, IL.

I used to pilot a Crownline 176 BR. It was a nice boat with the 4-cylinder Mercruiser. Good fuel economy and good performance. The aftermarket stereo was nice as well, with the front seat boxes forming over-sized woofer enclosures. Her name was "Little Smoke". We always thought we would name our larger, future boat "The Big Smoke". After giving up the cigars, I let my daughter pick a name for the new Mariah. She was thus christened "Big Red".

Good luck on you quest for a Mariah. Big Red is a sweet ride. She is a 1997 and the only "big money" I have spent is on trailer maintenance. Trailers are a pain in the *** in general. Nothing beyond standard maintenance on the vessel herself.

    Best regards,
