My name is Scott Taylor. I live in Wheeling, WV. Im 43 years of age. Ive been a lifetime boat owner. When I was a child, my folks bought our first boat, a 1980 MFG 17' with a 4cyl. Then in college, I bought a 1990 Four Winns 190 Horizon with 5.0 EFI. A few years later, I sold it and bought a 1998 Four Winns 200 Horizon. After my wife and I had children, we had to let the boat go until later. This past spring is now the later. I bought a 1998 Mariah Z242 with a 7.4 MPI with Bravo three. It only has 399.8 hours . I bought it from the original owner who had in on Lake Acworth, GA. After this summers use, it now has 431.00 hours. I used it on Deep Creek Lake, MD, Salt Fork Lake, Oh, and the Ohio River. The boat runs excellent, and it is in very good shape cosmetically. My boat is white and black. The 19 years in the Ga sun has put a strain on the black gel coat stripes. I have tried several different heavy compounds, polished, waxes, etc. I even put C-Quartz ceramic coating on it. And it does look good for 6-8 weeks, but then the oxidation comes right back. So, my question is this. I want to get the black stripes repainted, Gel Coated. Not sure which. Im not in the painting business. Can anyone recommend a quality boat shop that would repaint my boat? Something close to the Pittsburgh, PA area if possible. If i have to tow it somewhere, then so be it. Id be willing to travel up to 350 miles in any direction from my location, Wheeling, WV 26003. Would greatly appreciate and help/advise.
