Default It is hard being a Mariah owner!

I just bought my Mariah 222 Shabah (white with black trim) on April 19, 2008. It is the basic 222 model but it is very well equipped. The interior is very plush and has many features that I am impressed by, I now understand the “equipped like no other boat” motto. It came with the original factory cockpit and bow covers. It also has two tops, short sport top (connects to windshield) and a full size bimini. The original owner took very good care of it; the interior is perfect other then faded threads on the Mariah logo in the seats. The exterior has a few scratches apparently from hitting the dock but it will only take a gel coat repair kit to fix.
The trailer is a 2002 Road Runner tandem axle with chrome wheels and a matching spare.

I am pretty sure I got lucky on the deal. It was a consignment deal and I don’t think the owner or the dealer knew what they had, the ad said it is 21 ft long and that the model is 202 which didn’t make sense because the 202 is only 20 feet 2 inches long. Anyway when I got the original owners manual binder from the dealer and the registration from the state, they both show that it is a 222 built in late 1999 for the 2000 model year. Just to make sure, I measured it and it is 22’ 2” long so it is definitely a 222. I feel the only way the deal could have been better is if it had been the Z222.

I took it out for the maiden voyage on April 26, it only had 101 hours on the 5.7 liter 250 hp Mercrusier Alpha one so it ran great. I put over 2 hours on it and so far I love this boat, it rides and handles better then any other boat I have owned (1986 SeaSwirl Sierra (18’6”), 1997 Reinell 197 (19’7”)).

Since the maiden voyage I have “customized” it by adding a full custom cover (black), a SE Sport 300 Hydrofoil and a 4 blade stainless steel propeller. Well I guess that I am done with customization!

It is hard being a Mariah owner.

Yeah, but somebody's got to do it...

Congratuations and welcome to the club. I have that same power combination in my 202 and I couldn't be happier. People not only marvel at how good looking, well constructed and appointed my boat is, but they usually also rave about how well it rides. I love how the entire design gives you great function yet at the same time provides a very secure feeling when the going gets a bit rough.

These boats were really engineered like no other.
