I just did the conversion myself. I don't see another trailer with surge brakes in my future! I am aware the electronic brake on a boat trailer is a controversial topic but I've talked to a few other boaters with them- zero issues. We don't boat in salt water which is something to consider.
I will post a link when I get on my computer to a trailer manufacturer that puts them on their boat trailers from the factory. They seem very confident in the electric brakes.
