Just purchased a 1995 182 Barchetta, working in getting it ready for the summer, and I have a few technical questions. I looked through the forums, didn't see anything that matched these exactly, so go gentle if these are answered elsewhere, just looking for the information:

1. There is a three position rotary switch just to the right of the ignitino switch, it has a single red wire, two light gray wires and a dark gray wire on it. What is this for? I was thinking it might be for the dock lights (head lights) but they come on anytime one of the rocker switches is on, so i'm guess it must be for something else. Any ideas?

2. the red/green nav lights on the bow are not working, which switch controls these?

3. the instrument back lights are not working. How do I access the back of the dash? When I climb down under the dash, I can see the fuse panel (all good), but cannot see to get to the back of the guages. I tried to see if the open bow headrest on the starboard side would easily come off, but I don't see how it would. Any ideas how to get in there.

4. Lastly, where to locate some electrical drawings? I have a mercruiser manual, which shows the wiring for the gauges and drive unit, but it obviously doesn't have anything regarding the boat light wiring, etc showing where the wiring harnesses are and which color wires are what. Would be helpful.

All that said, usually the problem is a poor ground connection. Years of being in a moist environment tends to cause those issues to develop.
