Good Morning:

My 1999 Z280 has a spotlight on the bow with remote switch on the Captain's console. Strangely, it works right to left, left to right, and down. For some reason it does not move upward.

Does this sound like a bad switch or something in the spotlight mechanism itself or something else?

Hmm, it sounds like it could be either. Here's a test.

Can you get the spotlight to go up by doing a diagonal on the control unit? (ie Left & Up at the same time?) Try that and see if that works.

Also, do you know the manufacturer of the spotlight? this might help us locate a solution for you, and will definitely help us on the Mariah Parts list!

Not sure who the manufacturer is but will check it out. None of the manuals say anything about spotlights.

Yes, I have in fact tried rotating the switch to the left/right and up but it will not move upward.
