I don't think that everyone hates them, it's just when you own the "Cadillac of Boats" (as I've heard Mariah referred to many times) it's kind of hard to look at a Bayliner with a straight face. I've often heard Bayliner referred to as the "Chevy Cavalier of Boats".

Not saying they don't make a good product, in fact their large cruisers (35ft and above) are very nice, but in their smaller line, the boat is what it is, an entry level boat. It's by no means a luxury boat, despite what their marketing says. However, they are still selling lots of boats, so they apparently must appeal to someone, most likely one who's never seen an original Mariah.

i owned two bayliners and was not impressed with either. in my view they were very poorly built. i did not know what quality was untill i got a supra wakeboard boat. our mariah seems to be built just as well as our supra was. i will never go back!!

I dont 'hate' them either....i just dont 'like' them. They are built to a low price point that allows a lot of people to get into (or even stay into) boating on the cheap so i guess they do have some usefulness. I agree with Chris though, their larger cruisers are relatively nice boats.
