Default Temp gauge

Hey every one, I have a question...
We went out on the river this AM and had a great day sking , While running back home I took on some debri at the outdrive and temp shot up to 220 +/-, shut the engine down right away to let it cool down. Every thing seemed ok after removing the weeds from the outdrive but temp gauge only shows 110 and usally shows 175 after runnning for a time. Does anyone think there is asensor that could have gone bad during the high temp period? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks all!

I would take the thermostat off and check it. You may have injested some stuff into the motor and got some stuck there.
Mind you, it could be something else.
    Just my 2c worth mate.
    Good Luck

    Hi rooperdan,

I recommend you check your temperature sender on the motor too.
