Default Ski hook

I have never owned a boat before and the only other boat that i have been on has been an outboard model. My question is when pulling a skier or tube should you just hook the rope on the hook on the middle of the back or should you use a tow harness that attaches to the transom tie downs. Im just worried of the rope getting caught in the prop from the hook. Just let me know what yall think and do. Thanks alot.

    Hi Irace82,

We use the transom "hook" in the middle for skiing and single/double tubing (that's what it's for) and have never had a problem with the rope getting caught in the prop. When we go multiple tubes (3), we use the hook, and the two side loops for the tie downs.

The drag from the handle keeps the rope taunt enough so there is little slack in the line when the skier or boarder goes down. Just remember not to drive over your rope or go in reverse. If you're still worried, you can attach a small float to the line just aft of the swim platform like the tow harnesses have.

When we're out skiing, boarding or tubing, we always have one or two spotters and is their job to watch the person in the water, the rope and water gear.
