Silverado keeps tearin' up brake pads

Just replaced the pads and rotors again.
Anybody else having similar problems?

I spent 8 hours doing a 2 hour brake job!!!!! Thought I would save myself some money by doing it myself. My mechanic can do it the next time.
Most of my time was wasted runnin' back and forth to the auto parts store.

Broke three bulbs in the trouble light, got burnt on the halogens, tore my jeans, lost two perfectly good throwing wrenches on the lawn and now that I'm warmed up, my lacerated knuckles are bleeding on the keyboard!!!!

But I saved a few bucks for fuel in the Mariah.

I better go to the Urgent Care Center. Not to get these knuckles stitched, but to have my head examined. Something must be wrong with me.

:cursing: Make sure that the brake calipers are not hanging up. That will tear up the pads .

I know how you feel Steve! I used to own two jeeps, a Wrangler that was heavily modified and a Grand Cherokee that I used to tow with, so I know all about those sorts of projects! At least you were able to save some money for boating season though!! :wink_thumbup:

The parts store gave me the wrong pins.
The old ones showed no signs of wear, and were completely greased up when removed. I lubed them heavily and the boot covering them was intact. The problem looks like they do not slide on the ss slide coverwell enough. I assume the hydraulic pressures will move them. As usual the inboard pad was NG and also the rotor.
Good news is its done and the truck stops well.
Onto the next project before boating season.
