Hi Dave,

I believe currently, Ford still owns Land Rover and Jaguar. I know India's Tata Motors is trying to purchase Jag and Land Rover but according to this article, the deal may be in trouble……

It's been said that this could be a great blow to the British, one of their ex colonies now owning two of their flagship icons. We can only wait and see… :(

WetWilly

It seems the deal is no longer in trouble and is about to be closed....... see this article

By the way, I use a Mercedes ML270 CDI Auto 4X4!

Dave

I towed my SX18 a few months ago with a Land Rover Discovery, my wife was following and said the back of the boat was going up and down, up and down. I realised it was because of the air suspension on the Discovery. What a pain in the a*se it was to tow with.

Land Rover / Jaguar have announced today that India's Tata motors purchased them. A real pity and by the looks of things a lot of British companies will be eaten up by profitable Indian companies.

I use a 02 Ford Power Stroke. I figure boat, trailer 125 gal of fuel plus all the gear and toys I am well over 10000 lbs. My truck sure knowes its back there but I have no real problem towing.

dudders 04-03-2008 02:21 AM

10,000lbs!!!!!! thats 4 1/2 tonne or 5 ton (imperial), bloody hell, you would need a Bradley Tank to tow that without noticing. :yikes: :Bradley:

If I am right my boat is 7500 lbs dryweight, 125 gal fuel, lbs triple axle trailer. My truck knows its back there. I bought a chip for my truck this year 60 more hp. I can't wait to try it out.

That big diesel must love the fuel on your truck, especially when you are towing, have you posted a pick of the whole setup?
I bet it takes up more than 6 parking spots like WetWillies does :eek_animated:

WetWilly 04-03-2008 10:43 AM

Geez, Mariah Z276, I'd say your truck/trailer/boat is close to 17000lbs and with that, my rig gets lost in your shadow!! :eek_animated:
