Truck rims on 1998 Chariot Trailer?

I own a 1998 Shabah 180 and purchased two Kumho 857 tires. I had them put on my stock chariot rims and found out that I cant fill the tires to the 65psi rating because the wheels can only take 50psi. I was looking at 14x6 American Racing Outlaw II wheels. They have 3.750" backspacing and a 6mm offset. Do you think these rims will work on the trailer?

Hi dakotaman728, I have a tandem axle chariot trailer and my stock chrome wheels that came on the trailer were rusting out so I found that the ford ranger aluminum wheels where the same lug pattern and offset and went to the junk yard and baught a set and mounted my trailer tires on them and they fit perfectly and dont have to worry about them rusting anymore, just a suggestion. FYI there is a small lip in the center of the ranger wheels which will not let the rim fit over the hub on the trailer all i did was baught a hole saw the right diameter and drilled out the center lip. Doing this will not affect the rim being mounted true on the trailer. If you would like pictures I can get them for you and the size of the whole saw. Good luck and hope this helps :) If you would like to see what the rims look like on my trailer go to gallery click on my name and look at the pictures of my new wakeboard tower install, and you can see the trailer and rims in the pictures

Those wheels look great on your trailer and I like the new look of your Mariah. Im definitely thinking of going with the ranger wheels because they are much cheaper compared to aftermarket wheels. If you can tell me the diameter that would be great. You do not have to go through the hassle of uploading pictures but thank you for offering! What psi are you running with the ranger wheels? Im hoping I can run 60 to 65psi when i mount my Kumho tires.

Thanks Again!
Brandon

Thanks for the compliment on the rims and the boat. The rims are 14" by 6" and the hole saw I used is a 2 7/8". I run 50 psi in the tires If you want to run with higher air pressure you can as long as you do not exceed the maximum allowable air pressure that is on the side wall of the tire. The rim will hold it. If you need a bigger size rim the newer ford explorers and pickups that are 5 lug will also fit they are 15". Good luck and happy hunting . Let us know how it turns out

Ford wheels....used to have ones just like it on my old Ranger! I'm sure they will look cool and make people stop and point!
