Don't Laugh, But Can I Store a Trailer on Its Side?
I know, I know... there are no stupid questions... only stupid people who ask those questions. :)
Can a trailer be stored on its side? Why or why not? (The one in question is for a 19' Mariah Z series, no trailer brakes, single axle.) |
Re: Don't Laugh, But Can I Store a Trailer on Its Side?
As long as it is blocked & supported so that there is no weight being borne by the wheels / axle i dont see why it couldn't be done.

That's my thought, too -- put it on blocks so that there's no weight on the wheel/axle. Could there be ANY issues with the wheel bearings, lube, anything?

Hahahahaha!!! :rolling_laugh::rolling_laugh:
No, really... just kidding. I couldn't resist!!! Block it so the lower wheel is off the ground and no problem. I had a trailer for 10 years or so that was stored on its side every winter. Never had any problems with bearings or anything. Unless you're storing it in an oven, the bearing grease will stay put. The hardest part was getting it on its side. Trailers are heavier than they look :rolleyes: |

and it's easier if you remove the Mariah first......(balances better) :p
Ok, sorry, but I couldn't resist either... must be the stress of waiting for boating season to start..... :yes_grin: |
