202 Prestige Trailer - Fix'em up

Roached a spindle and bearing about 2 years ago while towing down to the water. Lucky for me I had a neighbor who could put it back together for me. Was able to file the spindle down and reattach everything, but recommended replacement of the spindle.

Finally started into this during the off-season. After pricing it out, decided to just go with a new axle as the local guys said by the time we would freight it down to someone who could work on just one spindle it was only another $100 to get a whole new axle.

Tearing into the trailer I found problems that can be expected with a 20 year old trailer. Stress cracks over the axles, where they square cut for the brake lines we typical. They weren't too corroded, but decided they were worth fixing. Added a steel angle to help stiffen it up. Cut the old brackets off and welded on new ones. Now the axle bolts to the trailer like it should.

New brake lines, new LED lights all around, new plywood for the fender wells and I think we're back in business. Added a step to help get in on the front, and a surge break lockout to the tongue while i was at it. Slapping on some paint this week and we'll be off to the Lake Friday.....

Thanks, I think it turned out nice. I've enjoyed grabbing the wife's butt helping her get in and out but the new step makes it a little less awkward for guest

. Plus the kiddos should be just about self sufficient now....
