Truck flamin'

Lets talk our tow pigs.
A chance to show off or just your dreams. Maybe we can help each other in finding others the trucks of their dreams.

I'll start with mine.
2008 Dodge 3/4, 4 door with 4X4. Of coarse it's a diesel. (I'm from the south !!)
I found mine from a shady wholesaler out of Dallas who hadn't paid the original owner for it. I flew into town ready to pay 26k for it TILL I found a tire shop invoice inside with the orig owners phone number.
Yep, I called him. Wanted the history on the truck. That's when I found out the dealer hadnt paid yet. 3 MONTHS !!
The ACTUAL owner met me at the Wafflehouse across the street from the dealers and we ate breakfast. He still had the title and offred the truck to me for what the dealer was SUPPOSETO pay.

$16,000.
Yessir. He was so pissed at the dealer and how he kept putting him off. He drove me tomy bank branch and I wired the cash to his account. Signed the title at the bank and had a Notary vouch.
Went back to dealer and drove off.
There's a lot more to the story but no one needs to tell me that I'm long winded.

So, the truck was used for hauling 5 empty boat trailers to Houston, 3 days a week. The trans has the works done to it and the motor was REPLACED with an '12 in ''12.
I've deleted everything and leave it on Economy except when towing.
I am such a Dodge truck now.
PS. NEVER EVER NEVER buy a black truck. Butterflies scratch it and my OCD is ferocious when dealing with my truck !

That's a hell of a story!! Well done sir!! I'll be sure and use that as experience next time I buy a used vehicle.

P.S. Black is beautiful when clean, just got to go about cleaning it differently. Goes for all paint jobs, black just shows when done wrong..

FYI... This post might get moved to "off topic" stuff

My Lincoln Navigator did just fine with my little Z202 until Vail Pass with about 3000 ft of elevation in 10 miles. The 8% grade was a killer, but I was able to stay at 50 mph.

I tow the Shabah 250 with a 99 5.4 F150. It leaves a lot to be desired in the towing dept. Luckily I only tow 3 miles to the launch ramp. I did a 1600mi round trip to get the boat. The tug home was slow. 12hrs there and 16 or 17 back. And the trailer brakes were not working. Talk about stressful! I figure the boat on the trailer to be around 5500-6000 lbs.

Over the winter I am planning on a newer truck. I have a couple trucks on the radar from Superdutys to the Silverado 6.2 1500. I like the simplicity of a naturally aspirated gas truck but these diesel trucks impress me with their ability to pull at altitude. Just not a fan of the potential expenses they come with. Anyway, plenty of time to make up my mind.

My tow rig is a 2014 Grand Cherokee Diesel:

Tows like there isn't anything behind it. Coming from a 2500 suburban I am extreamly impressed with the Jeep's composure and pulling ability.
