Help! 2005 Mariah SX19 3.0 concerns
Hi Everyone - I am close to and excited about purchasing my 1st Mariah (second boat) - the concern I have is that the 2005 SX19 model I'm looking at comes with a 3.0 Mercrusier (they seem to come standard with a 4.3). We have a family of five with kids aged 11, 15, 18 and therefore am concerned if this boat has enough power to accomodate eg 5 paeple and the boat and pull one teen on a tube or possibly 2 teens on the 'duel' tubes - I can't find many examples of SX19's with a 3.0 Mercruiser and am wondering if the 'load's I'm mentioned are taxing for this boat/motor combo - Iappreciate all advice Cheers! Chris

I think that the 3.0 will leave you underpowered for what you want to do on the water. If you were just using the boat for cruising it would be fine but for pulling tubers etc you would really be much better off with the 4.3.

My 4.3 is superb fuel consumption is great, power is great, and I can pull a skier, wake boarder, etched no problems. the 4.3 is a large v6 if you consider that some full size tucks a with v8 only have a displacement. Of 4.7 or 4.8. The 4.3 is very similar in architecture to the Chevy 5.7/350 small block.
I wouldn't go smaller than a 4.3 |
