Tilt/Trim Trailer use

Ok one question I have is does the engine have to run to use tilt/trim and trailer modes to move the drive?

If you are in trailer mode do you push the trailer mode button again to get out of it or just trim down?

I think I messed with it the other day but didn't hear the hydraulic pump run... wonder if the eyelet is loose for the pump or an issue with the switch. I didn't have the engine running when I tried to take it out of trailer/tilt mode

Engine does not need to run...simply hit the down trim button to get out of trailer mode. You may have some corrosion on either the trim switch or on the contactor located on the trim pump.

Found it.. chaffed wire from the control lever to the pump motor B+ circuit... all working now after cutting out the chaffed and sodering and heat shrinking.
