Smart Tabs SX
 

HI. I have been lurking on the forum for 5 months and have learnt a lot from the members here.
I have a Mariah SX21 with a Merc 4.3 MPI Bravo I. I bought the boat used and decided to bring the boat up to standards that I would be happy with.

I live in Dubai and use the boat in the sea, so safety is my primary concern. I changed the throttle control, steering wheel, re-wired the boat and changed the circuit breakers, new bilge pump and blower, full service from the local Mercury agent and finally had a boat that I was happy with.

She was great for tubing, wake, skiing and cursing, I decided to add a 2nd battery and then the boat started to behave like she was possessed !! I had unreal bow rise and low speed wander that would have made a drunk look sober. I was contemplating on going back to the single battery set up but i decided to give the Nauticus Smart Tabs SX with the 60lbs actuators a shot. Boy am I glad I did. I installed them yesterday and took her out for a test today. Its like I now have a new and much bigger boat. I now have practically NO bow rise and she's like she is on a tight rope with no wander at all.

Thanks to this forum I am now totally satisfied with my boat and thank you Nauticus for making a product that does exactly as stated on the can ! :D

Are the 60lbs actuators stronge enough for an SX21/4.3 merc?

Hey Andy,

After reading various posts about the number people that have changed from the 80lbs to the 60lbs, I decided to go for the 60s as we do not have a dealer or reseller here in Dubai. ( got em online from Defender) All I can say that the 60s work great. Like i said I now have no bow rise even at 2000RPM. which is about 15mph on my boat. I guess the 80s would be over kill, but not having a comparison I'm thrilled with the 60's

Only ask because I have 60's on my 180 Diablo and I’ve got them on the hardest setting.
Mind you with the 4.3 Volvo in the back of an 18' boat it probably needs a little more lift than it would in a 21' boat.
