Is the upholstery still good?
Get you some King Starboard material and some stainless steel staples for a cheap arrow stapler and redo them yourself. Way cheaper than a shop , and you won't be waiting for new ones that are never gonna come.
I had less than 100.00 in it doing my bow side cushions.

Just a thought

Yes Larry, the upholstery's in pretty good shape, other than those ugly yellowish/brownish stains under the headrests which I plan to scrub off. That's a good idea you are giving me. Will definitely consider doing it myself and definitely save some money.

Thanks, Andy.

Here is a pic of one of the bow cushions I did.
Pretty simple and no more rot!
Use Tile X on the stains , works like a champ:)

Andy - I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your headrests. The member that was successful in getting Sea Fox-Mariah to replace their headrests, do you have a link to that thread/post? I'd like to link that to this thread.

Representatives from Sea Fox-Mariah often browse the forums. Hopefully they will see this and help you out Andy because like you said, this doesn't seem right.

Good luck to you!

Oh crap!!! I just bought my new to me 2006 sx21 and have been cleaning the brown goo run lines off my bench seat for a couple months now. I never thought to pull them up and look behind, just kept cleaning. How do I remove these head rests to fix? I noticed in your pics you had them bent backwards, my vinyl is in great shape and I want to be a little carefull before I start pulling on them too much.:shakehead:

Re: Another SX owner with headrest issues

Those goo lines coming off the headrests' bottom part are an indication you definitely have rotten wood underneath them. That's how mine started, up to the point they are now, that rotten wood pieces are simply falling off...not a pretty sight. That's why you see mine bent backwards. As yours, the vinil on mine are in great shape too.

You can remove the headrests from behind, just pull off the white liner from the engine cover and you will see the holding screws.

Good luck, let us now how you come out.

Re: Another SX owner with headrest issues

I have the exact same issue on my 06 SX20 and would like to redo them this winter. Does any one have some info on what to order for the King Starboard material. Type, width. I am assuming its to replace the wood that is rotted and reuse the cushion. I would want to replace both. Does the King Starboard material come with a hard backing and cushion attached. Any tips, pictures or directions would be awesome. I would like to do it once, tired of cleaning up the rust off the bench seat.

Thanks Steve
