Default Silent Choice

I have just bougt a 2005 SX19 4,3 V6, and are wondering about mounting a silent choice system Anyone who has tried that at this boat, and engine? I`m a bit unsecure about where to cut the holes to the exhaust pipes, and what kind of system that is the best

Best regards for Roger in Norway

    Hi Roger

Somewhere in one of our other threads, we discussed the use of the "Silent Choice" exhaust system and if i remember correctly most of the comments were that it was an expensive option that did nothing to add to the performance of the boat. I'll try & look around to see if i can find that thread for you...

This thread discusses the pros (bad ass sounding boat) and cons (lots of mula) of the Silent Choice or Captains Call, whatever you want to call it, exhaust systems:

    Hi Player311,

mikeyt is dead on about the silent choice exhaust system. I too was looking into adding this option (what can I say, I like the roar and power).

In review after review, the same thing was said" gains of only 1 to 3 mph at top end" Another thing to consider is smaller engines need more back pressure to be efficient on the low end and non-restrictive exhaust are really only good for high rpm.

Like the guys on the forum have said, spend you money on something else unless you really can't live without the engine roar.

    Good luck,
    WetWilly

Do they even make a system for the 4.3L v6? I've only seen V8 systems.

For those who understand Swedish, here is a swedish shop selling seatek systems for V6 engines: http://www.seatech.se/seatech_silence_pro_se.htm
I dont thik this will change the maximum speed, but I want the sound
