Alarm Sounding, but pressure/temperature look fine?
I have an SX19 (2007) with a 4.3L Mercruiser. I have a problem with the alarm gong off until the engine has been running a while and then it comes back on and stays on when the boat starts again even if still warm. I immediately checked the guages the first time it stayed on and everything looked great and the boat was still running great. But after reading a couple of posts about the alarm I've read there is a reserve oil that could be low? How do I check this, verify my guages are correct, and get the buzzer to shut the $$$$ up?

Yep, check your gear lube reservoir. Mine had the same problem, but the level never dropped, turned out the sensor in the reservoir went bad. It was a $45 part, but ended up costing over $500 in diagnostics and multiple visits to the service center to get it resolved.

I am having the exact same problem as well. I posted the problem in another thread. My reservoir is full, so I will change the sensor next time I can.
Is there any possibility of there being an air blockage in the line, as I havent needed to top it up for a while? Could someone please check out my picture so that I am checking the correct reservoir. Cheers Tony |

Yep Tony, that's the correct one. I don't think there's an air blockage in the line, otherwise you'd have some pretty obvious signs.

Re: Alarm Sounding, but pressure/temperature look fine?
Hi folks. I am a new boater and have a 1998 Miriah 246 5.7 Alpha. After a weekend of boating with my family, on our last run, (6 people on board) the alarm buzzer came on. I slowed the boat down and checked all guages and they semmed to be fine, the alarm stopped . This happened three times. After reading some of your posting it looks like it might be a senser or that the oil needs topping up. What do you think???:
