2004 sx19, 4.3 me rc alpha 1 drives in reverse
 

My Mariah sx19 was bought used this spring. I did not run it on lake before buying. First time out realized it drives but only in reverse. It backs up but only in drive. In other words, I pull throttle back to go. Quizzed prior owner, he told me that was way he bought it. Being new to sport, he figured it was a Mariah thing. Any clues and help?

Does it have a reverse rotation prop on it? What is the part number stamped on the prop?

It is not a Mariah thing to my knowledge.

J 14.26 x 21 p....is that what you were referring to?

I was hoping it had a part number stamped on it so I could look up if it is a LH or RH model.

From the rear of the boat it should appear the prop should spin clockwise- if not the prop maybe a LH.

Or someone may have taken the outdrive off and put it back onto the bellhousing wrong. There is a shift shaft that needs to be placed in a particular location prior to putting the outdrive back on.
