It should be stamped in the hub but for a while, Mercury was using their part #'s instead so you might simply see a code. If you run into this & although i haven't checked recently, i'm pretty sure you can go to the Mercury website & enter the code in their prop selector & it will tell you the size/pitch. You could also simply go to their site & enter you boat / motor info and the selector will give you the prop that likely came with it and you can adjust from there.

You should be able to locate a number on the prop. Somewhere inside that number is the pitch. If you see a 19, 21, or 23, that is the pitch.

Ok, i found my aluminum prop that was original to my boat. It has the part # 48-78122-21 showing on the hub so yep, that '21' is very likely the pitch. My other prop clearly shows the diameter & pitch on the hub as 14.25 x 21 rather than the part#. My new SS Apollo prop shows the dia & pitch also.

I have a 96 tamarind 215 with a 250hp io bravo 3 what pitch props should I be running. Currently mine are 26 pitch seems I have a hard time getting on plane.
