How to pick out the Best Prop -
I have a Mariah Talari Z240, and it has a Stainless Steel prop made by Mercruiser - its a Mirage. I believe its a 3 blade prop. that's all I know because I have not pulled it off the out drive yet. I am wanting to invest in a new prop because of wear n tear, n a few good dings. I want to get the most out of our Mariah by putting the best size, pitch, and material into the prop.
I don't have access to my manual, so learning what OEM recommends is hard. Its a Mercruiser 350 - with an Alpha 1 drive, and a Mirage SST Prop. I don't even know if its right handed or left, I dont know the pitch. Does anyone know the best size prop based on optimal RPM, Prop Diameter & Pitch is? Any suggestions or advice would be helpful - thanks in advance. Also a recommended vendor would be nice as well. Thanks, Carolina Kipper:confused:  |

CarolinaKipper, The forum has a section for "Prop Talk". Lots of good info in there. There are some education links that will help you out a ton! Nothing beats education when it comes to these things.
Prop Talk - The Mariah Owners Club With that being said, I have a 24' cuddy with the same powerplant. I'm running a 17" quicksilver highfive on mine and I love it! top speed is about 39mph at 4450 RPM. Mercruiser's "Prop Selector" tool is a good place to start also. |
