Default Prop

I recently purchased a 350 Shabah with an Alpha 1, it has a 3 blade aluminum 19 pitch prop. Has anyone tried a high five or what is my best application (prop) for this motor and boat?

You need to keep your rpm's within your WOT range. Should be around 44-4800 rpm. I think most guys with your setup are running a 19 or 21p prop. If your looking for more bottom end try a 4 blade 20p. But your going to loose topend. Haven't tried a High Five , but a lot of guys here have and I'm sure they will chime in.
Do a search and you'll find loads of info on the subject.

The highfive is known as a strong pulling prop for multiple tubes/wakeboarders. I put one on mine because of the size of the boat it was really slow out of the hole. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it except for the price. With a 350 in a 21' boat, I don't think you will need this kind of pulling power. A 4 blade will probably suffice. Unless you just want to spend the extra cash.

on the flipside, the Highfive does look pretty badass!

    Hey guys,

I just took my new (to us) 2000 Shabah 202 out on Lake Ontario today. It has a 5.0L Volvo with a 4 blade quicksilver prop - I think it's a 20" pitch (the number on the prop is 21 86 P20). Wide open, trimmed out she only ran about 40 mph. And I'm only running barely over 4000 rpm. I know it should be running higher than that. The hole shot isn't that great either.

Suggestions? I think I need to drop to a lower pitch. I think I should be getting in the high 40s - if not 50 - mph.

It's not that I have a need for speed. I just want the boat set up correctly so that it runs how it should with WOT.

    Thanks,
    Neil
