is thios yamaha going to fit plus the rake on an outboard is ususally different which is always a concern. try it as if you would use it if you can meaning same amount of weight in the boat and water conditions. lots of luck

For your motor and boat size, I would go with a 19 pitch, 3 blade SS prop and a hydrofoil. No trim tabs needed. I'm suprised you could get on plane with a 21 pitch. I had a 20 foot Genesis with a little worked 5.0 LX and the boat did 60 with a 19 pitch prop. When I got it over 50 mph it was scary fast for the size of the boat. When I took out alot of people and we were sking, I would install the 17 pitch prop for a better hole shot. Good luck!

That wouldn't have been because what i wrote in post #2 would it? ;)

Dont stick an ugly hydrofoil on the outdrive......it makes the boat look like something out of a low rent trailer park in Arkansas.

The 22" 4 blade will lower your rpms slightly and that's not something you need to do. The 20" 4 blade or even a 21" 4 blade if you can find one would be a better option. You need to get your WOT rpms as close to 4800 as possible for maximum efficiency. You are not going to hit 50mph with that boat/motor combo anyway and most people i know dont run at top speed so there's no point in pursuing that. Either install a set of Smart tabs or even a set of electric or hydraulic tabs if you have the extra $$$ in your pockets which will help get you on plane quicker and hold plane at lower speeds.

Thanks mikey, a hydrofoil was never even a consideration for me. Too much instability/porpoising at higher speeds. I've actually just been looking around to see what's available locally, and that prop was one on there that I noticed. I would be demoing it on my own boat with my own outdrive...

Remember that your buddy's Rinker has a pad hull at the rear and this is a fast hull but your Mariah will ride better in the chop because it has a true v hull. My Rinker 202 captivating with a 350 mag only topped out at 56 mph on GPS so a 4.3 hitting 58 is almost not believable, maybe 48 mph... unless it's an 18 foot boat.

Try to look at the dates of the prior posts before you reopen a 4 year old thread...
