Need prop education......
 

Our "new" Mariah 20' 5.0 2000 Jubilee has a 3 blade factory ( I assume ) prop. What are the advantages if any to 4 blade props? What is the difference in a 3 & 4 blade?

The 4 blade should offer better hole shot (quicker to plane when you hit the gas) than the 3 blade, and will likely keep the boat on plane down to a lower speed than the 3 blade. 4 and 5 blade props tend to be more useful if you do a lot of watersports; tubing, wakeboarding etc. It will come at a cost however, as your top speed will likely be slightly lower, as increasing the # of blades also increases the drag.
