Default Repaint

hi MOC its been a while since I've posted and I'm grateful for all the help I got here. I'm about to have my z302' repainted it is viper red and I'm considering a red repaint or going all white with red accents.
I'm torn because I've rescued this great boat from an abusive parent lol and while I have a lot of elbow grease into the gelcoat its too far gone. So my question is what does the forum think I'm doing things the right way every piece has been removed from the boat the cleats rails windshield . Every area of red will be painted and all the scratches from sandy will be addressed. Do I remain true to the boats history and stay red or am I being to sentimental. The 302 looks fantastic in white as well but she gets a lot of attention in red even with the oxidation.

Soooooo love to hear your thoughts.

That decision is really up to you. But to keep it original, I'd say go with the red. There's not many of the solid red hulls out there, and by painting it white, you'd lose all the individual character of the boat. Just my $.02

Love the red Mariah's ......... The only color I like more is all black.... I wish my Z258 was any of the solid color Z's red, black or even yellow.....mine is white with burgundy stripes and if I had money to blow I would definitely paint it a solid white or black... I'm in the planning phase of upholstering my interior and can't even figure out what color will look good with burgundy other than white ...

I guess red is the way to go for a lot of reasons. And I'm told the paint doesn't oxidize I'm going with awcraft paint the other boats this company has done look great and I've even seen repairs to scratches that were practically impossible to find.
As far as white and burgundy depending on your preferences certain dark beiges work. Look up go fast paint or speed boat paint on Google images you will see some multi color combos that you wouldn't think of. I'm no designer an like some more than others but you might get an idea.

Thanks for the comments it's all appreciated i didn't think this would be this hard but it's exciting.

    Go Red!

Been a really long time since I have been on the site but wanted to give a thumbs up to the red idea. Mine is factory gel coat Viper Red and I have to buff the boat yearly and thought about painting it with Awlgrip just like you are thinking about doing. Red gets lot's of looks and I think really accentuates the lines of the Z302.

    Good luck
