Swim deck speaker

Wanted to see those that have put a speaker at the swim platform facing the water. I thought this would be better to hear music in the water versus cranking it up loud.
Thanks!

Oregandunes is the only member I've seen do that so far. Pretty popular option on wake boats though. Seems like maybe Tige was the first to do it in production, if you're looking for ideas.

Re: Swim deck speaker

Three things:

(1) Really good speakers that project loudly
(2) Run a very clean amp to them
(3) Clean head unit.

Im running a Fusion iPod deck (MS-IP500), Polk Audio speakers (db 651) and JL Audio marine amp (mhd 900/5).

My kids can hear the music real well on the tubes while going 25 mph. Nice thing is I can barely hear it in the boat.

I bet you almost cried when you cut that first hole out.

Re: Swim deck speaker

Did you run your speakers through some type of splitter so you can set different volume levels in the cockpit and the swim platform?

No. I run the Fusion Marine MS-IP500 head unit. It has 4 zones. Zones 1&2 are in the main cockpit, zone 3 in the open bow and zone 4 on the swim step.

Very nice setup. I would normally take you up on the head unit, but right now I am saving for my new engine! What brand are the speakers and what size amps are you pushing?

Re: Swim deck speaker

Polk Audio "DB Series" speakers
JL Audio Maine amps.

Each of my subs are ran from an individual zone in the cockpit. I can actually "tune" the frequency of each to make one kind of a "mid woof" and the other a "deep woof".

This head unit is like no other.

Here's another idea I recently saw. This platform was built by Waves and Wheels in Osage Beach Missouri, for a 342 Baja... complete with LED cupholders.

Re: Swim deck speaker

The quote came from mountainmarine. Com from colorado. Its 800 for the platform, 75 for ladder upgrade, 140 for paint, 100 for shipping crate, and another 140 for shipping. This is for a wedge type. Anyone else have any cheaper quotes?
