stereo upgrade
 

As I mentioned in another post, Ive (almost) completed the stereo install. Fusion IP500 deck, (2) 6 ch JL Audio marine amps and (1) JL Audio 4 ch amp.

I replaced the electric (pop up) antenna with a low profile "shark fin" model, installed my 3 amps on the backside of the rear seat in the engine compartment, 2 speakers directly under the rear grab handles facing reward for our water bound friends and installed a pair of 6.5" JL Audio (all white) up in the open area as well.

In the mid cuddy I replaced the deck with a Jensen VM9312HD-Car In Dash DVD,7 IN LCD Touchscreen TV with ipod hookup/controller and separate AV adapter to run a PS3 or other device, 6 channel JL Audio 800 watt amp, (4) 5.25" polk audio 2 ways and a 10" Kicker marine sub.

still got to seal the rear bench in somewhat at least for water protection from wet suits dripping on the subs

if any of you are thinking of doing a stereo upgrade and speakers are on your list, watch ebay for the Polk Audio DB marine series. the tweets are hinged and can be aimed for fine tuning. they can handle a lot of power but dont require it (very efficient).

Absolutely beautiful boat. I only wish I can get mine that sweet in time. What the heck are those flex hoses on the lower unit?
Thanks for sharing your photos, gets me fired up to work on mine.

I believe that is an outdrive cooler. It cools the top of the outdrive since that part is usually out of the water most of the time.

That makes sense, I didn't see it on some of his earlier photos. Wonder what benefit it serves from his orginal set up. Plus is that a dolphin tale?

I would imagine it would be a great help if you do some long distances runs. I have seen a friends boat when we run his wide open for a long run and then come off plane, there is steam coming up from the outdrive. So they do get extremely hot when running hard on plane. Considering the cost of those dang outdrives, I am going to be investing in those before spring!

those feed water to the top of the drive for the cooler.

The right drive cooler can stop the white chalky deposit from forming on you hot sterndrive.
