I double layered the back halves of the main bunks since that should be where most of the sliding happens. The bunk carpet actually feels pretty tough, better than I thought for some stuff I bought at Academy sports.

I forgot to take a 'before' pic without the boat on it, but here is the result when completed! Did it near the ramp at the lake with some wrenches and power tools, took about 45 minutes total... not too bad!

Also took the boat on the first spring drive, it did pretty well! It didn't want to start, even with a brand spanking new battery it acted like it didn't have the juice to crank it (rapping tapping noise when turning the key I believe is starter solenoid) but I turned the crank by hand just a 1/4 turn and it finally fired up right after. Drove it for around 30-45 minutes straight then came back in. After I got home I put my smart charger on the battery and it only showed to be at 50-75% charged, this is a 1000 MCA Exide battery, so I need to dig into that a little more. Once I got it started it ran great though :)

Thanks fellas. It's a really nice trailer, I felt like it deserved some love. It really pulls great.

Now if only I could learn to pull the boat on straight every time!!!

Just went on the same mission. I bought some trailer bunk carpet on eBay and it was pretty good. I saw the slides people are talking about but they're some type of plastic/composite you screw on top of the carpet. I chose not to use them because the hull would sit on the slides instead of the whole bunk.

As for your boat not starting. Definitely make sure your battery is good but check your ground connections. Especially the one that screws to the back of the block.

Nice! You went even further with yours getting the axles off. Looks great so far!

I appreciate the info! I'll get in there and really look at the connections, maybe it will be something simple as some corrosion...
