Question MOUNTING bATTERY SWITCH

i BOUGHT a 1996 25' shabah cabin cruiser. The battery switch was mounted to a clarion speaker hole. The previous owner stripped the speakers from the boat. The cables extend from a hole next to the speaker hole and extend to the switch. How was this battery switch mounted? I can't find any holes to mount it on.

The battery switches were usually mounted in the engine compartment. You can pretty much mount them wherever you'd like, as long as you've got enough cable!

When I had my '00 Z250 they were Infinity "Reference" speakers. But I'm not sure if those were OEM, or if the previous owner had installed another pair. Regardless, any speaker will work. You'd likely be better off replacing them with newer speakers anyway, as marine speaker technology has improved quite a bit since 1996.

Just pay close attention to the mounting specs for the replacement speakers before replacing them. Those 5" holes may not be for true 5" speakers, they may be for 5.25", 5.5", 6", etc.
