6.5 speakers
 

I have a 2001 Z212 that currently have 5.25 kickers in and would like to make changes and add 6.5 speakers. My question is this possible with the way side panels are molded and vinyl trim above speaker? If anyone has done this I would like any info and pics of 6.5 speakers installed. It would be greatly appreciated. I am currently looking at JBL 6.5 3 way speaker for swap of 5.25 2 way kicker.

Cory, I put a whole new system in my boat last spring. The factory holes are to small for the 6.5". I ended up putting 5.25" polk audio in the factory locations. I also put 4 - 6.5" under the rear bench and 2 - 6.5 polks in the bow. You can cut in the larger speaker but the grille doesnt fit very well as it overhangs the factory opening and interferes with the vinyl trim. I installed these in my 1999 Z212.
