Bow rider door

Im just looking for ideas for a bow rider door.
I dont think my 182 barchetta ever came with a door, even tho underneath the center folding windscreen there is a rubber piece like it was meant to seal into something.

i got some ideas from some other sites, to add two c channels verically and slide a piece of plexi down when i want to seal the front...its a good idea, but ill have to find a place to keep the plexi when not in use...

They never had doors, mine came with a bow cover to keep the wind out. Shouldn't be tough to fabricate something. Good luck!

The plexiglass idea is nice. My old Mark Twain bow rider had a vinyl door that snapped into place. When not in use, it rolled up for storage.

When we strolling around not using the front bow, it be nice to cover or block off the front...i like the idea of at least a bow cover...im assuming id have to have a custom one made since it didnt come with one. The boat always sits in the garage, so i don't really need a full cover. I also like the plexi door way, id just have to think about where to keep the plexi when not in use...maybe it will fit somewhere in the engine bay.

You might want to look at this bow & cockpit cover for sale on eBay. It should fit your boat.

Thats a pretty good find...ill have to contact the buyer...

seems like it doesnt have snaps in the cover itself...are those easy to install?

When I had my bow and cockpit covers made, the canvas shop also made me a snap in "door". It is independent of the bow cover and can be snapped in. It snaps to both sides as well as on top to the bottom of the walk through windshield. Sorry I don't have pictures of it. When running on cool days/nights it keeps the wind from blowing through the cockpit area.

I have a set of removeable black lexan doors that match the lexan storage compartments in the sides of my boat that the previous owner had made and installed. I knocked the hinge pins out and installed cotter pins in thier place to make them removeable for summer. With the original top on the boat and the doors closed, it really keeps the wind out, and I think the look pretty decent. I'll post u a picture when I get a chance. Wouldn't be too hard to build a set for any bow rider.
