Default 1990 mariah port windows

ive looked high and low, includes all the parts list here and haven't been able to find any info on my four port windows down in the cuddy.

the main problem is the plastic is warped and cracked which means it leaks. Ive called a few plastic vendors to remold my plastic, they said they could do this for a minimum order of $500, that is not happening. . the inserts and rubber seals seem to be ok. Ive called Taylor they are no help.

Any have any idea who the original manufacture of these windows are? i dont really want to spend $800 for four new entire port windows or $500 to re mold 4 pieces of plastic that are only 14 1/2 wide by 5 inch wide.

Any other suggestions?

I assume you are talking about the plastic, eliptical shaped, port lights that are mounted to the hull and open into the cabin. I cannot tell from the small picture on your avatar but if they are the same as my 99 Z280 then they were made by Pompanette of Charlestown, NH. Part number for mine was G616---28SS. I looked high and low with no luck for close to 4 years to find replacement lenses. Mine were were cracked due to UV exposure and mechanical stress. I finally broke down this spring and ordered 4 new complete port lights from the OEM for $855, as much as I didn't want to! I ordered the original port lights just because it was easier to slip out the old port lights from the inside and reuse the the external SS trim ring. I didn't use the new SS trim rings. I read that if you attempt to remove the old SS trim ring from the hull there was a good chance of damaging the fiberglass gel coat as they were bedded with 3M 5200 sealant which holds like iron. All replacement windows that were made with glass lenses were more expensive than the orignal and would have required that I cut larger openings....something else I didn't want to do.
After installing the new port lights I contacted Pompenette to find out if the lenses are made with UV inhibitors. The MFG said there were UV inhibitors in the plastic and that the lenses should last 8 to 10 yrs. He also said that an additional UV cling film could be applied to the outside of the lens to block more UV. Do not use a film with an adhesive, they are designed for glass and the adhesive will attack the plastic.
Probably not what you wanted to hear but this was my experience. BOAT = bust out anothe thousand!

yes, the elliptical shaped rotted plastic lens and no, its something i really dont want to hear!
I did look at the site, they are pretty close to what i need. ill have to dig into it a little more.
just out of curiosity, did you contact them to see if they would sell you just the lens?

just spending $800 on something so damm silly is almost too much to bear when $800 would redo my stereo system would give me alot more pleasure. no one cares about your windows!!!

actually i just called pompanette, the do sell just the lens part GP907-39 , for $58 dollars each. i need to double check my measurements. They said they have people there, just by the pics that could identify pretty close if it is a match or not. im sure this is too good to be truth.

I felt exactly the same as you with regard to the expense of the windows until water kept leaking into the boat taking out some electrical components in the cabin.
I called them in an attempt to just buy the lens and was told that mine were too old, they only carried lenses for newer models that had different hinge spacing. That being said, the window units that I received appeared to be exactly the same dimensions as my old ones. I don't know if there was a misunderstanding or what.
Good luck and let me know if you find a better solution.
