Fuel Pump Issue
I have a 95 Barchetta 182 with a Merc I/O. Suddenly today is started but only ran a few seconds. I have traced the issue to the fuel pump wiring. The is NO voltage to the fuel pump. I believe it does not have its own fuse but I am not in favor of "hot wiring it". I can't figure out where the voltage should come from. Thanks for any help someone would have.

Re: Fuel Pump Issue
When the key is in the start position it comes from the starter solenoid, when in run I believe it comes from a distribution block back by the distributer. I had issues with mine and it was a bad starter solenoid. If you upgrade your membership you'll get access to wiring diagrams and a bunch of other information that's well worth the money. They're what I used to troubleshoot my issues.

Re: Fuel Pump Issue
Just noticed you're a silver contributor. You should be able to find diagrams in the mercruiser engine section.

Re: Fuel Pump Issue
I did get the boat up and running. Thank you for the help. It ended up that the fuel filter was plugged. Not visible at all by looking at it. I do run gas with ethanol, so it probably needs to changed once a year. I made a jumper wire to pull the gas up without cranking the motor forever. It took about 2-3 minutes to get primed and pumping.
One last question, I could not find any mercruiser wire diagrams for my 443B model engine and out drive. Does anyone have a link to a good schematic? |
