Gel coat colour
 

I know this question has been asked before, but failed to get the answer I need by searching. Does anyone know where I can get gelcoat colouring to match my hull. It is a 1996 Shabah with a kind of Ivory/cream colour. The second colour (burgundy) seems much easier to match from a standard colour chart. Has anyone had success mixing different colours to get a good match for the Ivory?

Assuming your are asking about painting Gel Coat... Gel coat is not really any harder to tint than regular urethane paint. Get a close base color and add tinting agents to match. The good thing is that Gel Coat will dry to the exact color you tint it to not like urethanes that will lighten or darken once dry.
If your doing small repairs just buy the tintable kit. If your on a bigger project and plan to use a dump gun, then buy a close match base and tint it lighter or darker depending on your needs. But remember that the sun fades the Gel Coat over time so even if you buy an exact match, it will not match for awhile then eventually it will catch up to the surrounding areas. May be a couple of seasons depending on your location before you notice the blend.

I just got done shooting a Jet Ski with Gel Coat and matched (tinted) the color to the new seat cover I purchased. Came out perfect. Even added some bling holographic flakes at the kids request.
