Hello...as said I have a 1994 Talari 210... Boat has been running great but during a recent tubing event with grand kids the engine started boggin down on acceleration...it would idle fine and would idle fine in great but any acceleration attempt pretty much shuts her down. this occurred suddenly and did exactly the same after cooling down and trying again.. I thought bad gas or dirty fuel filter buy my mechanic says it is defective carb...he has ordered a rebuild kit. the gas mileage has been pretty bad, but starts were easy, great idle, strong acceleration...then mush !

Any ideas ?

I'd try changing the filter before I'd throw money at the carb.
How old is the fuel in the tank?
Very possible for "crap" to get into the carb , forcing a rebuild , but I'd still try the filter first.

Gas was fresh and from the same source, local marina, as last 3 tanks, I have been noticing black soot residue up and under swim platform., not much but noticeable. Thanks for your incite.
