Default First Launch of the Season!

So this weekend it was between 55* and 70* and I got the Shabah out! Took some pics, thought I'd share.

and the pulling machine! Detailed it for 3 hours this weekend, lookin' good!

and to finish it off, I let my brother go out for a spin while I went to get food and this is what happens... I'm pissed! Took it to our local Marine Service Shop and a replacement prop is $248.00!!! He's 28 y/o bear in mind, I figured he'd have common sense to operate a boat, guess I learned my lesson!

I'm jealous that you were able to get her out on the water this weekend. I'm still about a month away from even getting mine out of storage.

Too bad about the prop damage though but i happens to all of us sooner or later.....

He explained it to me as this:

I was taking pictures of the shore lines when I didn't notice we drifted so far and when I started the engine, I felt a shudder and then it went away...

So I take it he started it on a damn rock! And know he says he's only giving me $50 for the replacement prop!?! I know who won't be driving it this summer...AT ALL!

You might be able to have it repaired for approximately that much. Take it to a prop shop or even West Marine. It's not a bad idea to have a spare also.

Nice Jeep by the way. I'm in the process of buying my parent's off of them... 2000 Limited, every option with only 53,000 miles and not a scratch!

My boat's a bit bigger, how does it tow yours?

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread.

Since you have to replace it I would put the money in a stainless prop. It will be the best money you spend!

I was thinking stainless, but I wasn't sure, I already put in the order for an OEM replacement 14.25 and 21p... Alot more $$$ by the way too

My jeep is an 03, 4.7L, tows my boat awesome, really no struggle at all, my friends 4.0L Cherokee had sometime with it, but yea, not a big deal at all with my Jeep. Sounds like a sweet deal on the 2000 though. Love mine to death.

By the way, where did you take it out yesterday? I went over and checked out Caesar Creek and it was flooded worse than I've ever seen it. The whole beach was underwater (a lot of water) and the docks were taken down since the water was way above their max height. People were still launching their boats onto the cement lauch ramp though. Too risky for me to try! Plus one person would have to swim out to the boat after parking the car in VERY cold water.

Haha, yes all the ramps were closed, but there must have been 25 boats out on the water, little chilly doing about 40mph+ but felt great being on the lake! ~

Yea I went to the steep ramp, forget it's name, let's just say I'm very, very careful when putting the boat in the water and getting in it without getting wet, haha. One guy there drove over the concrete ramp, that was quite a sight.

And yes Caesar's Creek was up like 8 and a half feet! Crazy!

Sounds like he owes you some sweat equity as well. I think a full polish and wax of the hull would be a good start...

I tow with a 2K Limited and the 4.7L Quadra-Drive. No problems at all.

I too, love my Jeep. Spent the better part of Saturday changing all the driveline fluids. It needs a detailing in the worst way, but I haven't yet taken the snow tires off of it... < /hijack>.
